Organized education operates on the assumption that children learn
and only what
and only because we teach them.
That is not true.
It is very close to one hundred percent false.

Nice! I wish I had $500 a year per child to spend. Man, I would have a rockin’ homeschool then!
Sarah, in NZ, homeschoolers receive a bi-annual amount to spend on homescooliong supplies.
And Deb have you read the Homeschool Anonymous blog? Seriously some sad stories on there. “We are an inclusive community interested in sharing our experiences growing up in the conservative, Christian homeschooling subculture.” They aren’t anti homeschooling but had bad experiences in their families with it. It’s a bit of an eye opener and makes for uncomfortable reading at times.

Sarah, imagine if we all had $9963 per year to spend on homeschooling! LOL
Lisa, I wondered if the ones who answered negatively on the questions at the end were the ones akin to that website. I’ve heard of that site before. It would be more interesting to really understand if the unhappiness with homeschooling was the SCHOOL part or the RELIGION part of things. Not that that would be easy to determine, I’m just sayin’…..
Hey! I homeschool! I have a love/hate relationship with it. But I do it!
