Random Monday

• The other day in the car, this horrible and stupid song came on the radio, and Jim exploded out of nowhere, “KE$HA IS EVERYTHING THAT’S WRONG WITH THIS COUNTRY!”

Which, for one thing, it’s not Ke$ha (do I have to put that dollar sign in there? it’s ridiculous), and for another, Icona Pop isn’t an American group.

In any event, I don’t disagree with the general sentiment. But I’m a little concerned he knows who Ke$ha is.

• The Pinterest board My Imaginary Well Dressed Toddler Daughter. (stolen from Candid Diversions, who linked to it last week. But it’s too funny not to share again. Okay, Karen?)

The Imaginary Well Dressed Toddler Daughter’s name is Quinoa. Brilliant.

• In Pet Peeve News: You know how when you are texting, stupid autocorrect jumps in and changes all your words to OTHER words that make no sense? And then you roll your eyes and mutter rude things about autocorrect? Like how did it turn “slid it in upside down” to “slid Irvin upside down”? Irvin? Who’s Irvin? (talking of loading a new thrift store find in the car, get your minds out of the gutter, people)

BUUUUUUT! Autocorrect does NOT change the word when I misspell their. WHY. WHY, autocorrect, WHY? If I get the i and the e backwards (which I DO, EVERY TIME, because I am SPELLY THAT WAY), why doesn’t autocorrect fix THAT? WHY? No. It just mocks me, with that stupid little red squiggle until I change it myself.

• Last Friday at the knitting group, one of the other girls, who is a public school teacher, was telling stories about her job. I said to her (completely unironically, and without thinking), “honestly, I don’t know how you can stand to be around kids all day long.”

• Happy Monday, y’all!

So how do you pronounce this name? Kay- money – shay? Key-dollar-sha? Keh-cash-ha? I have never heard of this person. It sounds like a fakey Prince wanna-be to me, trying out for the “symbol instead of a name” thing. It’s been done before.

I suspect Jim has a secret life.

Wow, a bit passionate, but I don’t listen to anything but contemporary Christian so what do I know?

But if autocorrect changes it for you, how will you ever learn? So, it turns out that autocorrect is a typing tutor. People are just confused by the name.

That Icona Pop song is catchy! Crashed into a bridge? I love it! Yes, I can see how it is everything that is wrong with America.

MIWDTD reminds me of Suri’s Burn Book. I feel a little guilty that I’m able to make that comparison, but they are funny, so wutevah.

Don’t forget that Quinoa’s best friend is Chevron. 😉

I actually address Kesha’s new song in MY Random Monday post this week. And I’m super on the fence about her. She has some fun songs.

I love that Icona Pop song! It’s incessantly catchy as well.

I think I might have messed something up when I was trying to link my Random Monday post. If you delete it, I’ll re-do it tomorrow.

Deb – my Mondays are horrible. We have a home biz and the phone is ringing off the hook on Mondays. I’m trying to juggle school and taking care of my mom. By the end of Monday I’m sitting on the floor in the corner drooling BUT then I remember there is a Random Monday post waiting for me …. and I feel better. Thank you!

No – that stupid Robin Thicke is what was is wrong with this – um your – country. Hmpphh.

I want to have another daughter JUST so I can name her Quinoa. And then correct everyone who calls her “Quin-oah” and I can say “it’ ‘Keen-wah’!”

But I won’t be installing a tree in her hair.

I homeschool so I don’t have to spend time teaching OTHER PEOPLE’s children.
