Random Monday

In CategoryRandom Monday

• I am going to write the Big Announcement-y post tomorrow, so do not worry, you will know soon. Be kind, I was not kidding about being nervous to tell you. Is it confessing my chronic misuse of commas? Ooh, the suspense!

• The trip to Utah has something to do with it. We took I-70 to get there, which is a beautiful drive. Truly spectacular. We drove through Vail. Vail is very fancy. I saw a house with a strange-looking turret, and then finally realized it was a private observatory.

Who has that much money? That’s a whole ‘nother level of rich.

• I told my sister we were going away for the weekend –

• We talked about Sister Wives several times while in Utah:

Jim: It’s pretty here

Me: It is, isn’t it? We should move here.

Jim: Can we get some more wives if we do?

Me: Heck, yeah! I need to shift some of this workload, you know what I’m saying? I’ll be the wife who…

(and at this point I paused to swallow my Pringles, because I am POLITE that way, JIM)

Jim: ….bosses everyone?

Me: wordless gesture

• Another car conversation, this one while the kids were playing some obnoxious game (involving buffalo, because don’t they all?) they tried to drag me into.

Me: I’m not part of this game, and while we’re on the subject, knock it off.

Little: Mommy, you are the only person who can take something fun and make it boring.

Me: I suck that way.

• The drive home was almost unbearable. UNBEARABLE. For some reason, I-70 was wall-to-wall people all up in my way, and what should have been a two-hour drive was stop and go for FIVE HOURS.

I may or may not have thought about ramming gently tapping the guy in front of me, because at least that way I’d probably get to ride in a cop car and probably wouldn’t have to sit in traffic.

• Happy Monday, y’all! Link up while you still can!

Deb. You are stinkin’ hilarious. Wanted you to know…I get you. I don’t blog, but I’d link here if I did!! For sure. I hope and pray the fire is far away from you and yours. We have family in Ft. Collins, so it always makes me a teensy nervous! You have a great day with your Big and Little. (:

  2. Applie Says:

So, did you find a sister wife? What type of questions would you ask a potential sister wife, during a job interview?

Five hour stop and go road trip. Ug… That is awful. Hope you had enough Pringles to help you through it.

Five hours stuck in traffic sounds like my idea of a good time. Not really.

I don’t need a sister wife. I have teens that do all the chores for me. That is why I had children! LOL Not really. BUT I haven’t cleaned the kitchen unwillingly in years!

A sister wife would be awesome. But only if she took at the really boring, nasty jobs that I don’t want to do and left me all the free time for playing on the computer and crafting.

Can’t wait for the big announcement.

I would love to have a sister wife too. I even have a claddagh ring too.

I need someone to cook and do laundry.

I think you’re going to be working at that new huge Nefarious Snooping Agency facility… mwahahaha!

  7. Donna Says:

    I had to google sister-wife. …

5 hours of slow traffic? That’s awful!

You’re nervous to tell us? It’s got to be that you converted and are moving. I dunno. It wouldn’t bother me, even with your kidding about the Sister Wife thing, most Mormons aren’t that exciting in that department. I would want to hear your personal conversion story and promise no judging. You know that we have lotsa Mormons here and while I am not converting, I sort of get where that stuff makes them happy and if it makes you happy too, then go for it. 🙂

Only. Do tell us what is going on soon, for the suspense is killing me. *gasp*

I’m so excited that I finally get to both comment on, AND link up to a Random Monday post. I know it’s almost not Monday here anymore, but I still got my post loaded and linked, and I’m super excited. So, now that I finally got that up, you’re probably going to do away with Random Monday. Well, at least I can say remember when . . .

I also can’t wait for your big announcement! At least you get up earlier than I do despite being 2 time zones behind so hopefully the post will be up before me. You have a knack for killing us all with suspense. I’d think you were announcing a job as an undercover spy if you hadn’t posted so many pics of yourself. 😀

This is a charming and funny Random Monday that I will be saving for posterity.

I also like how I get to enjoy the suspense in reverse because my timing is all messed up. It makes me feel all superior somehow.

And I like commas, too! Take a pause, add a comma. Comma, comma, comma.
