Missouri seems to have a lot of antique shops. If there is one thing I love, it’s rummaging through antique shops (or as Jim calls them sh*t shops. rude).

On Saturday while we were driving to St. Louis, I kept seeing billboards for a certain antique mall, supposedly the BIGGEST ONE ON EARTH! Even though the kids were hungry, I put them off and didn’t pull over to eat until we were coincidentally at the same exit as the shop. Super! Mom!

While Jim shoveled some lunch into the kids, I went hunting shopping.

I found the cutest old-timey school desk, which I bought, because I have been looking for one like it for almost 2 years.

And then I had to explain to my husband that I had indeed bought a desk that would be in his way for the next 6 months. And that we would indeed be carting it all over the place. And that it would totally be worth it because LOOK AT THE CUTENESS, JIM.

He loves it, he just hides it.

I don’t have a picture because it has been banished to the back of the trailer. But I will post one the minute we settle down again and you will all BURN WITH ENVY.

I also found this awesome chicken, which I almost bought for my sister –

Fact: I am an awesome sister. See Exhibit A – The Chicken Hat.

The chicken led to the following text conversation –

When we got back in the car, I was practically vibrating with happiness at my shopping adventure, and I told Jim that when we were old and the kids were out of the house, I wanted to go to the World’s Longest Yard Sale.

He momentarily looked ill, then recovered and said he would pay someone to go in his place.
