The next best thing (or maybe the FIRST best thing) would be to have him here at home, in the flesh, saying all that to me in person. It would be lovely—him on the couch, relaxin’ and murmuring encouragement in those dulcet tones, the kids gamboling about at his feet, my husband offering him a beer (and my husband doesn’t even drink. He would do that for Ryan Gosling), and me showing him my new crocheted book marks.
Now THAT would make for one special Christmas!

I hadn’t seen this Gosling meme. I also love the feminist theory and the librarian one. My husband keeps addressing me with “Hey girl…” because he knows it will automatically put me in a good mood.
