And the dog was wearing a pink sweater

In CategoryNavel Gazing

Last week when I was at the THIRD GROCERY STORE IN TWO DAYS (ironically, shopping for the Christmas dinner that did not happen), I saw a lady with a DOG in her CART. Her cart was all outfitted with a nice, soft, pink cart-liner like you use when you have a baby. The lady was cuddling the dog while she was talking to the butcher.

Aren’t there rules about that?

Bring your pet rat in next week and see if the butcher is ok with that!

Maybe the guy just figures why cause a fight… you wouldn’t believe the bad behaviour I’ve seen in grocery stores and other public places. No one wants to confront ill-mannered people.

I thought it was against the law to have a dog in a grocery store if it’s not a service dog.

Oh, that bugs me. Why do people think that just because they are little they can bring their pets everywhere with them. Eww. (I don’t like dogs to begin with so I may be a little sensitive.) 🙂

Deb, didn’t you know that seeing-eye dogs of the future are TOTALLY going to get carried around in shopping carts in little pink seats…? And that they will communicate with (and guide) their blind person by little yips into a microphone (that the blind person’s earpiece will decode into human speech)….? And what you saw in that grocery store was probably a test run of the prototype of this monumental, life-changing piece of technology……??

What … You didn’t know that, Deb? Well, now you do 🙂

Hey, I’ve been away, and as always, it’s lovely to come back to your words. You always make me smile!

I love the pet rat idea! lol I saw an employee of our grocery store, shopping on his day off. He was wearing his P.Js and 5 O’Clock shadow. No LIE! He was with a woman who was a relative of his. I know, because they looked exactly alike except for one detail. She had a full grown beard. No LIE!

It was a disturbing site. I’d rather see a pink dog.

Maybe she was talking to the butcher to figure out how much it would cost to turn the dog into Christmas dinner?

There was a woman in our safeway with a good sized dog in her cart. Like it was actually too big for her to carry, so she was pushing it around in the basket of the cart. I was kind of shocked that she wasn’t asked to leave. I saw her multiple times and ended up in line behind her at the check out. No one said anything. Way too weird!
